The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts various examinations such as SSC JE Examination, SSC GD Examination, SSC CHSL Examination, SSC CGL Examination, SSC Stenographer Examination, SSC MTS Examination, and SSC CPO Examination. This article gives a brief outline of the various SSC Exams and the SSC Notification.
As per SSC Notification for Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2021; the Tier I Exam Date is scheduled for April 2022. As per SSC Notification for Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination, 2021; the Tier I Exam Date is scheduled for May 2022. As per SSC Notification for Multi Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff Examination, 2021 – the Tier I Exam Date is scheduled for June 2022. For Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces Examination, 2021 – the Paper I Exam Date is scheduled for December 2022. As per SSC Notification, the SSC Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Quantity Surveying & Contracts) Examination, 2021 – the Paper-I Exam Date is scheduled for March 2023. The Stenographer Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’ Examination, 2021 is scheduled for April 2023. The Constables (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), NIA, SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Examination, 2022 is scheduled to be held in June 2023 as per SSC Notification.
The CHSL SSC Exam is conducted to fill vacancies in different posts such as Data Entry Operator (DEO), DEO (Grade A), Postal Assistant (PA), Sorting Assistant (SA), Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC), and Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA). For the SSC CHSL 2019 examination, the number of vacancies released was 4893. The SSC CHSL vacancies 2020-21 counts to 4726. The candidates selected for any post will be asked to work in any part of the country.
The CGL SSC Exam is conducted to fill vacancies in different posts in different ministries such as Assistant Audit Officer with the Indian Audit & Accounts Department under C&AG, Tax Assistant with CBDT/ CBIC, Statistical Investigator Grade-II with Registrar General of India, Junior Statistical Officer with the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation, Inspector with the Central Bureau of Narcotics, Sub Inspector with the Central Bureau of Investigation, Assistant Enforcement Officer with the Directorate of Enforcement, Department of Revenue, Assistant Accounts Officer with the Indian Audit & Accounts Department under C&AG, Assistant Section Officer with the Central Secretariat Service, Intelligence Bureau, Ministry of Railway, Ministry of External Affairs, AFHQ, and some more posts with several other Government departments.
The Junior Engineering SSC Exam is conducted to fill vacancies in various posts with different Government departments such as Junior Engineer (Civil) with the Border Roads Organisation, Ministry of Defence; Junior Engineer (Civil) with the Central Public Works Department (CPWD), Central Water Commission, Central Water Power Research Station, Military Engineer Services (MES), etc. There are posts for Junior Engineer (Mechanical) with various Government departments such as Military Engineer Services (MES), Farakka Barrage Project, Directorate of Quality Assurance, Naval, Central Water Power Research Station, Central Water Commission. Similarly, there are posts for different Junior Engineer, Electrical Engineering stream in many of the above mentioned Government departments.
The General Duty (GD) Constable SSC Exam is conducted every year to recruit eligible candidates for the posts of Constable (General Duty) in Assam Rifles, National Investigation Agency (NIA), Secretariat Security Force (SSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), and Border Security Force (BSF). As per the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Ministry of Home Affairs and SSC, the recruitment scheme is developed by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
The Central Police Organisation (CPO) SSC exam is conducted to recruit candidates for various posts like Assistant Sub Inspectors in Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Sub-Inspectors in Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), and Delhi Police.
